new nook

There has been a great deal of hiatusing going on around these parts lately. The new hammock is an especially delicious place to read away those hot summer evenings. Parked in a shady nook, trying to catch even the slightest breeze, I glance up from my book occasionally to watch the thermostat creep ever so slowly downward.

Breezes in summertime are important . . . as are hammocks . . . Here in Texas, felt a few rare breezes the other night from a nearby thunderstorm . . . heavenly . . .

You would enjoy our usual summers, I think, Erik. They are a far cry from your usual weather and from the recent heat wave we have been experiencing.

We love our hammock. I try to read there but invariably fall asleep. Which is also good, of course.

There is no losing with a hammock, John. Unless, of course, somebody gives it a violent spin while you are napping.

Hammocks are awesome, but we seem always beset by mosquitoes of unusual(prehistoric) size during all the suitable-for-hammock weather. Still, smoke 'em if ya got 'em!

Those blasted mosquitoes! Oddly, we have very few of the bitey critters. For us, this summer in particular, it was wasps.
