which echoes belong

After having sat on the sidelines for decades while others merrily snapped photos, I slowly came to the realization that it was time to suck it up and get my own camera. No more family cameras that I use with great trepidation, and even greater suckage, every five months or so. I am tired of chanelling my mother-in-law, cutting off people's heads as they pose for exactly the same photo around the dining room table year after year after year.

So, with Communique 2011 right around the corner, just bursting with photographic possibilities and memories I am dying to capture, last week I broke down and bought my own designated camera.

These are some of the photos that I took while playing around with the settings as I familiarize myself with my Panasonic Lumix.

New cameras are always fun! I used to have a Lumix, too.

BTW, am I crazy or is that mushroom shaped like a nipple?

I'm camera-impaired (anything more complex than a point-and-shoot freaks me out), so congrats for taking up a real camera!

Weird, I'm reading a book by Preston's brother, The Monster of Florence.

I mean the book is about the Monster of Florence, not that Preston's brother is the Monster of Florence.

Your eyes do not deceive you, WC. That mushroom has a nipple.

The nice thing about this camera is that it has a point and shoot option too, SME, which I will probably use until I feel comfortable exploring further, in about 35 years.
Haha I am sure that Preston is relieved about that.

Yay for new tech! You'll be able to break it in nicely this weekend.

Maybe you'll even find another mushroom nipple. ;)

Congrats on the new camera they can be fun. You'd think I would have a whack of great pictures to post seeing that I have 3 cameras plus the one on my new phone. Ah another thing I need to do better. Get out and take more pictures or at least keep a camera with me.

I have a lumix, as well. It goes with me everywhere. Have fun with it.

I think you will really enjoy having the camera; the cat perhaps a little less so.

You have given us an interesting facet Retarded Kitty's personality.

I'm on the lookout for mushroom nipples everywhere now, Al!

It's a very user friendly camera, isn't it, Remi. Lots of fun to play with.

I think she was just getting ready to do her patented "big scary yawn", Kathy.

She has loads of interesting personality, that one, Leazwell.

Once again mushroom boobs have hijacked another blog post.

They have a way of doing that, John. Saucy vegetables!
