just in time for festival season

My latest BC Musician Magazine article, about the evolution of music festivals, so you can be an informed hippie this summer:

Excellent article; well done my friend!

(but why is there an extra r at the end of your name?)

I wondered the same thing, UB. Perhaps they thought it looked more stylish that way.

Another great article, Barb. I also perused the list of festivals on the site there and was amazed at how many there are! I see the Sorrento Bluegrass Festival is listed. I worked at Sorrento Centre one summer a few years ago and so was there for the festival...Craziness! I was in food services so we ran the concession. Craziness! 50lbs of sliced onions for one afternoon of burgers! I'll never forget the tears...

BTW, my brother is a jazz musician so he has attended the Kaslo Jazz Festival, which is hugely popular around here an in a very picturesque location, and my SIL's parents often attend the Nakusp festival, too, also a very picturesque location. And the whole family, except me, was involved in running a food stall at Shahmbala - talk about CRAZY! Now they have some war stories to tell you for sure. I don't care for the techno stuff that is played there, but the people watching would be worth the hassle of getting to the location methinks. Shahmbala is HUGE here...You can always tell when it's on because all kinds of strange characters start appearing in these parts. Stranger than normal, that is.

I am always gobsmacked at the number of festivals that are happening during the summer along in BC, WC. It would be more than a full-time job to attend them all.
It sounds like you and your family have more than your fair share of tales to tell from the trenches.
