before we was cool

I've been getting reacquainted with an old friend lately. We were both part of a practically inseparable group when we were young, a group that slowly drifted in disparate directions after high school, as these sorts of groups will do. We have so much to catch up on.

Today she sent me some photos, including these two from our grade 4 and 6 class. Can you spot the wee zombie? A prize to the first person who correctly identifies me in both class pictures.

My grade 6 teacher read Homer to us, The Iliad and The Odyssey, as well as all the Edgar Allan Poe stories. She was pretty cool for a hot teacher.

I spotted you in both but for reasons of security can't reveal my answers. Do I still win? Why did we never have class photos? Or did we and we were just to poor to buy them?

I can't tell - the pictures are too small for my poor eyes. The joys of getting old.

I'm sure you were cool even then. You just didn't know it yet.

Class pictures were apparently standardized. Looks like any of mine from that period.

"pococo" WV - this needs defining!

Of course you do, Dale, but for reasons of security, I can't send it to you. What a shame you have no class pictures! A whole roomful of wee Dales would be a delightful thing.

You are absolutely right, Karen. I can't do anything about the getting older part, but I have enlarged the pictures now and made them clickable. Thanks for pointing it out.

I still don't know it, Mr Anchovy. Does that make me cool?

I don't even know why we bothered posing, Leazwell. Could have just used the generic class picture circa 1967.

In the first one...you are in the second row, fourth in from the right, in the blue sweater?

In the second one...you are in the second row, third in from the right, in the patterned dress with the white collar?

We are Dieppe School twins, Kelly! Mine was in Winnipeg - grade 1 and then grade 4-8.

Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner! Well done, Al! You have excellent facial recognition abilities. Not that I would expect anything less from someone who get 18/20 on a fake smile test.
A much coveted prize will be winging its way to you.

Wow, who knew Paris Hilton could read?

HA! There IS a distinct resemblance, John! I was wondering why Paris Hilton looked vaguely familiar all this time.

Thanks for making them clickable. I love the Kubrick twins and also the kid 2nd row fourth from the left with the goo goo googly eyes - I see he made it to top row in the 2nd photo. You of course, look perfect.

Isn't he adorable, Dale? I should FB friend him and you could stalk him at your leisure.
