hats off to the man

There's a good reason he's been called the Krokinole King. Even clutching a monster glass of wine in one hand, he can still whoop your ass any day.

And then there's the matter of his often envied but never duplicated barbeque prowess. Let's just keep this between us, but if you were to show up at our place, he would grill you the best steak you have ever eaten. In your life.

Don't even get me started on his uncanny recall of the minute details of decades old television programs.

Happy birthday, Spousal Unit! Stay fine, stay funny, stay fabulous.

We all know he's super smart, after all he had the good sense to snag you and you wouldn't be with anyone who wasn't a great guy.

He's far far cooler, Lesley, but don't tell him I said that.

Oh I don't know about that, Dr M, I have kissed my share of frogs and snakes. But you are right, that the SU is one smart cookie.

Happy Birthday, Jerry!!

Master of the grill, you are! Hope you have a nice tall glass of wine to celebrate with tonight. :)

Hmm...that photo looks vaguely familiar!

Well happy birthday to the SU from me, too! I have tasted his BBQed stuff and I can attest to the mastery he has in this area. As for the Crokinole...He is awesome, and a very good teacher, too.

I hope he has a great day!

I think that's a given, Al!

The photo was taken by a very fine photographer who stayed at Casa del Zombie for a few days in the fall, WC, you may recognise her name in the photog credits.

I've heard of the game and that's about it. Happy birthday, spousal unit.

(Is that hand on your shirt about to cop a feel?)

Barbara Bruederlin said...

You have got to play Crokinole sometime, John, especially if you like games that turn people into aggressive animals.
That shirt IS trying to cop a feel, you are right!

Happy birthday to the Mr.Zombie!

Oh also I just received your Christmas card in the mail. Thanks so much! It's gorgeous and I definitely needed the extra dose of glitter in my life. I must say I am very intrigued by the mention of a skating penguin though.

Barbara Bruederlin said...

Oh, Kelly, you do live dangerously!

I knew I should have sent both, BAP! I hope the glitter continues to light up your life. Or something.

Happy Birthday Jerry. Hope you had yourself a great day. By now I figure you should be relaxing with a nice glass of wine, a BC wine of course!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Zombie. I have no idea what Krokinole is but it kind of scares me. It looks like some sort of futuristic universe-domination role playing game.

Barbara Bruederlin said...

I would welcome a grill-off betwixt the two of you, Kelly.

Not sure if it was BC wine or not, Toccata. Does it come in a big box?

It's more like table-top curling, Beckeye, but there are definitely shades of futuristic domination within.

A very Happy Birthday to Mr. Z.

Next stop: Google, to learn about Crokinole.

:)

Barbara Bruederlin said...

You really have to play it to appreciate its beauty, Volly.

Happy Belated, Jerry! I've been a little lax on the blog-reading, so apologies for missing it. Hope it was a wonderful day!

Barbara Bruederlin said...

Thanks Susan, he had a great day. We discovered a new Korean restaurant!

You play Krokinole!! I'll have you know I'm the current trophy holder in the Thanksgiving Championship amongst my friends and family! We have to play this Christmas,
Mr. Byron Honey

Oh you are so on, Byron! People are going to be lining up to challenge you!

Happy Birthday to your Hubby. I love that photo where you look prim with the hand-on-the-heart orange handprint. Super cute! You are truly the most fabulous couple ever.

Isn't that a cool shirt, Phlegmmy? My friend brought it for me from a Chicago record store.
