crawling through a festival: interstitial report

There was no festivalling done by the inhabitants of Zombie Central last night (day two) as sometimes things like final exams must take precedence. So, I'm sorry Rural Alberta Advantage, Library Voices, Mount Eerie, Azeda Booth, Woodpigeon, Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, etc, etc, I really should have been there to cheer you on.

If it helps, here is evidence that I was there in person to cheer on Final Fantasy, this photo shamelessly stolen from the Sled Island webpage:

See? That's me at the very front on the left, the one with the crazy hair and the dark shirt, then the Resident Offspring in yellow, and then my new best friend, the design student, in the white tights. And that's Owen, serenading us, and us alone.

Coming up tomorrow, the lowdown on the blowout in Olympic Plaza.

The venue looks super cool, too.

That certainly looks like an example of the venue actually making the show. What an amazing place! And what a great picture too.

Owen really is a fantastic musician and always puts on such a fabulous show. His screen displays are always a highlight too. Nice to be preserved forever with your boy like that too!

It's a church, Wandering Coyote, and like so many churches, has great acoustics. Ceiling is pretty too, innit?

Yeah, me and Owen, we're likethis, Sean. Sadly, he didn't have his display stuff with him that night, but they are always magnificent, despite the fact that I suspect he swiped the idea from Christine Fellows.

Immortalized forever in zeros and ones, Gifted.

Nice and rested up I am definitely not, Al, but shall soldier on with the aid of caffeinated beverages. Got one more night left in me, I figure.
But, yeah, Central United is a great venue, right downtown along the train line, and great acoustics to boot.

Say Hi to my daughter for me will ya if you see her?

I haven't seen her since she finally wrote her last exam EVER and has finally finished her degree hurrah! Thursday night. She's sledding all weekend, vip pass and press pass, last I heard King Khan had painted her face gold.

Good times, good times! Great pic! Have fun you two!

I DID see your long-lost daughter last night and she was indeed all gold, Urban Blonde. I managed to evade King Khan and his face paint by not going to the women's bathroom, while he was hanging out in there.

Congrats to your talented offspring!

I see you! And the church is gorgeous! There's no way in heck this country would ever let a church host a concert. And of course Owen is serenading you guys, and you guys alone. He's far too polite to even pretend to have the time of the day for the less Awesome members of that congregation.

You really need to come to Canada for a visit, BAP. I will take you to church and everything. Mind you, there will be a concert rocking said church and someone incredible like OPalz leading the faithful.
