evidently there are dire consequences if one hangs the tassle on the wrong side

I just took approximately 765,760,943 candid photos of the Resident Offspring in her grad gown and cap, in anticipation of the big ceremony tomorrow morning.

What I would like to know is, what happens if she fails her diploma exams? Is someone going to reimburse me for the time it took to snap all those pictures?

Hate to sound like an old fart here, but...Back in MY DAY, we had our grad at the end of June after we'd finished all our exams and knew what was what. I don't get why they do it so early now!

I also don't understand why they do it so early now either. The best part of graduating was knowing you didn't have to go back to the school!

I can't recall what side of the cap the tassel went on, all I remember was moving it over to the other side once instructed. That apparently means you've graduated. ;)

Big congrats to the RO!!! (handclaps)

I see that the "tams" come in 4, 6, or 8 sides. My problem is (and this is complaining), my head doesn't come in 4,6, or 8 sides—only off-centered round.

I agree with the oldtimer WC: I didn't graduate until June 23 after all the exams were said and done.

And gee, 765 million candids is quite a few—I hope 1 or 2 turn out okay.

How did the Graduation go, Barb?

We viewed the convocation ceremony this morning, Michelle. Is it called convocation when it's only high school? And we all survived.
Hugs back to your gorgeous crew! We miss you!

I was wondering what happened to those people on the cusp if they didn't pass, but then it turns out that they didn't actually get their diplomas today - only a copy of the program. Ha! Could've had ours and saved us all 3 hours.

She may have to go back to school for a few more weeks, Al, but as of tomorrow, the RO will no longer need a parent to excuse any absences. I think she intends to work this to the fullest.

It's better than having a pin-head, Charlie, not that there's anything wrong with that.
I think all the myspace angle photos that the RO took of herself turned out quite well.

The ceremony was surprisingly nice, Jas. And finished on schedule!
Yes, Jamie and I are planning to come up there for a visit sometime soon(ish).

I'm pretty sure she will do okay, Justrun, unless she goes overboard with this self-excusing absence thing.
