I am getting quite excited about being able to see clearly again. I just have to convince the surgeon that my case is more urgent than the blue-hairs'. I think the fact that I would actually have pretty good vision, were it not clouded by cataracts, gives me an edge. That, and my extreme youth, apparently.
Of course this means that I can no longer attend the inauguration ceremonies in Washington tomorrow, but hopefully Big O and Mich will understand.

You're going to really appreciate that surgery.
(Gee, what a super comment.)
It will change your life. Good luck. Practice the quivering lower lip
You mean I let a blind woman drive me around last week to get coffee? ;)
Glad your appt. was moved up! Good luck with the surgeon tomorrow!
PS I've just sent you an article about my friend's daughter who IS attending the inauguration. I'm living vicariously through her.
I wonder how long it'll take you to dump all your ugly friends.
Good luck with your appointment!
I am going to the eye doctor tomorrow, hopefully all goes well and I will get a better prescription so I can see again, too! Damn computer is harming me eyes.
I never saw thias post coming.
extreme youth..snicker
thats for your SO...who you tell is watching gay porn
is not!
oh and btw...good luck with it
That tag made me laugh out loud. LOL, if you will.
ha ha i just had to post something...anything just because of the word ver. that came up
dorkmon
very jamaican don't you think?
"Hey mon, don talk him he's a dorkmon and got no ganja"
Good luck with the eyes! And the tag for this post, it made me LOL. It did, it did!
Never fear, I'm sure they'll be replaying the event for years to come. It might be history in the making but best to take care of your eyeballs so you can see it later. Good luck with the appointment. Hopefully you'll have your surgery lickety split!
At some point in my late teens I became near-sighted. I didn't really notice this happening until it happened, when I realized that other people were able to read street signs way before me. So off I went to get my eyes checked (Dr told me I had become near-sighted), and then ordered up my first pair of glasses. I remember the shock I experienced when I put them on. Wow, trees have all those little leaves. Imagine that...
Good luck with your surgery. No need to worry about missing the inaugeration, though. You'll hear about it in infintessimal detail over and over and over and over again.
I would love to be able to see clearly without contacts or glasses but I'm too much of a wimp to have any eye surgery. Good luck and let us all know how it goes!
Good luck with the surgery! Is it done with a laser? I didn't have cataracts but I did have my long time near sighted-ness corrected with laser surgery 6 years ago. Amazing! I imagine caratact surgery is a similar process. Quick - and revealing!
I can feel the love coming from that comment, Justrun!
I've been practicing the lower lip quiver so hard that I think I pulled a muscle, Gifted.
You thought I was driving over those snowbanks on purpose, didn't you, Urban? Fooled ya!
I am sure your friend's daughter feels really honoured to observe such a warm and wonderful moment.
HA! A geyser of coffee just shot out my nose, John! Well asked. I give it two weeks.
What is it with eyes doing all this changing all the time, Al? Mine stayed exactly the same for 42 years and then, blam! (which is the sound that eyes make when changing)
Not even with those super x-ray specs, Dr M? You need to get those tuned up.
Don't tell me you never considered that aspect of Ultimate Fighter, Kelly. Dorkmon is the best wv I have heard in a long time, and makes me want to take a bus ride in Jamaica.
It was a slightly convoluted tag, I admit, Ruh, but that is sort of how it feels with these eyes.
Glad I could send a LOL your way, BAP! It's payback for all the lols you elicit from me all the time.
I'm actually listening to the inauguration on the radio right now, Karen. For some reason, I like the radio best for these sorts of events. Maybe it's hearing my familiar CBC buddies relaying events to me.
I can't wait to have that "trees have all these little leaves" moment, Mr Anchovy! I remember I used to be able to spot a ladybug on a leaf 100 yards away. I miss that.
I hate wearing reading glasses, Beckeye, and I expect I will still need them after the cataracts are gone, but at least I will be able to see around these big clouds in my eyes. But yeah, the eye thing is oogie.
I'm not sure yet what is involved, Glassmeow, but I would expect that lasers are involved. I'm told that it is a really quick procedure with next to no recovery period.
Thanks for the Butter Chicken recipe, Barb. Again! That is happening quite regularly now that I'm of a certain age.
Good luck with your eye guy!
Berni
Hope it went ok!
Just ask the RO, Berni, she will tell you the same thing about me.
It went really well, Wandering Coyote! I'm on a return to sightedness.
Oooh, I'm excited to hear about this. It's like gaining a super power. Kind of.
I'm hoping for x-ray vision, Kees.
Best of luck. Just promise that when you get that x-ray vision, you won't direct it at me?
I can see your underpants, Bubs.
