this is why I continue to buy cds

I Might Be Wrong Live Recordings - Radiohead:
Mountain Battles - the Breeders:
Com Lag - Radiohead:

Albums, of course, are even better.
And for the record, "otherfuckermay" may very well be my all-time favourite Pig Latin word.

The Resident Offspring began her job at the living history musuem park yesterday and is doing her training in the bakery. She brought home day-olds! Cheese buns and butter tarts.
So I gave her poor aching feet a foot massage last night. I automatically give foot rubs to anyone who brings me cheese buns and/or butter tarts.
It's been raining for almost a week and I'm just loving it - an attitude which is sure to get me run out of town on a rail. People around here take their sunshine very personally. But my hair has not looked this good since we moved away from Ontario - thick, shiny, and every curl is perfectly defined. I'm not sexy enough for my hair, obviously.
rain or sun?
butter tarts or cheesebuns?
too sexy or not sexy enough?

Those are brilliant pieces of art. I like the last one especially.

Hmmm...I choose cloudy.

Cheese buns all the way!

My hair is behaving itself lately as well. We've clearly done something good and the hair karma gods are smiling upon us. ;)

Note to self: Stock up on cheese buns, butter tarts, and humidity before visiting Barb and her family.

With our spring and summer weather, you'd be a real beauty here, m'dear

Any chances the Zombies will ever be in our fair land? You always have a place to crash those lurvly curls.

I love the attitude in the last one, Al, but am esthetically drawn mostly to the first one.
Cloudy days are the best. Colours always look better under clouds.
Glad to hear your hair is being awesome as well. It's too bad we're not closer, we could go out somewhere together and stun everyone with our incredible hair.

Dr M, if you come visit armed thusly, you would be a shoe-in (no pun intended) for a daily foot massage.

Well that's it then, I'm moving to the east coast, Gifted.
We came close to traveling to your lovely area this summer, actually, but then some crazy British band decided to have a concert in the west instead. But one day, one day, my friend.

Me loves the first one as well. I stopped to stare at it a little longer than I did for the others.

Cheese buns!!

I detest my hair. Nobody knows what to do with my hair. I could grow an afro if I wanted to, but it's too much trouble. Don't we all wish we had that straight, long, silky hair all them Oriental girls have?

Cheese buns and butter tarts. Sounds like some awesome pet names.

I responded to your recent comment, but in case you didn't come back...

My head is not on backwards in my new pic. I'm coyly looking over my shoulder and grinning back at the camera as if to say, "Look at this stud molesting the microphone next to me."

For comparison, here is the original shot.

Isn't that a great album cover, BAP,I think it's a Donwood. I love the feel of his art.
Mostly I like my curly hair, but every now and then I would kill for long straight silky Asian hair.

I'm assuming you mean "pet" as in lovey person, not the domestic animals that reside with you, Beckeye. Because while a cat named cheese bun is pretty cute, I suspect it's way more fun to call your honey bunch that.
You're way cuter than the woman in the original shot, too, who also has her head on backward. Or maybe she just has double-jointed elbows.

Man could there be a worse job than the bakery? Like maybe the candy shop or the ice cream parlour?

Cool Art. The reason I buy CDs. And Vinyl. Oh yeah and the music.

Give me SUN. I'm still chilled to the bone from the weekend garage sale.

Butter Tarts. Mmmmmm Fortunately Planet Organic sells gluten free ones.

My hair soaked up the moisture from this rain and became big and ringlet-y like a 80s Country star. I need me some rhinestones and satin to match. And a Gee-tar.

I need a refresher pig latin course. I looked at your word 10 times before I got it. Groan.

"Go West, young (wo)man, and grow a bountiful hairdo."

Who woulda thought these thoughtful words would still apply after so many years. Perhaps though it was the cat puke conditioner last week that did it?

Kudos on the album art selections too. The Radiohead stuff truly remains my favourite. Interesting though... The new Breeders held so much promise when I first saw the brilliant artwork. But I couldn't help but feel the music did not quite live up to its creative housing. Ah well...

Look for the new Black Angels disc, the artwork on that one is splendid.

Cd cover art doesn't quite have the same impact as the nice big long-plays, but at least it's still there. Along with the liner notes!
And I am pretty certain that you just rocked the 80's country star look, Urban Blondie.

It's sunny today, Jim Dandy. You must have jinxed things.

I knwe I should have bottled and sold that cat puke conditioner when I had the chance, Sean. Oh well, I am sure there will be a next time.
I agree on the Breeders' album. The music does not live up to the artwork. I'm still listening, though, hoping it will grow on me more. I'll need to keep an eye out for the Black Angels disc.

Sun. Cheesebuns. Too sexy.

Oh goodness, now I have a hankering for a cheesebun. Also, a foot massage. I'm going to start wandering around the office and seeing if I can find anyone to provide me with either...

phlegmfatale said...

Yup-- there's just something about folding out the paper and having a look as you set it off on its maiden listening. Nice!

Barbara Bruederlin said...

With any luck at all, you will get both, Strawberry Blondie, and you can sit back and relax with your cheese buns whilst your tootsie get massaged. Hey, now I want that too!

So true, Phlegmfatale! You need the tactile experience to go with the audio.

I remember buying I Might Be Wrong. Probably the only live album I ever heard that actually felt like an album, not like some band plowing through their greatest hits.

Barbara Bruederlin said...

Yes, you're right, Will, the songs are reinvented so well on I Might Be Wrong.
