the return of the chirping power cord

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, the ghost returns to the machine. I guess laptop power cords only have a six-month shelf life. In my hands anyway.

So I am once again laptopless. I mean I am without a laptop; I am fully clothed.

We are now sharing a computer around here. Wish us luck in making it through the next week without any untimely deaths.
Puppy and old folks pics tomorrow. Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.

Did I have a REAL LIVE ZOMBIE SIGHTING/CROSSING this afternoon or am I in need of new glasses?

Barb, were you at a certain neighbourhood grocery store around 2:30- 3 (or thereabouts) and when crossing out in the parking lot were you bordered by a mail truck and a silver corolla?

if so I wasn't the one driving the mail truck! LOL! We must have been shopping at the same time in there, next time I'll say hi!

Blondie
PS I totally feel for you being without your laptop. I just recently went from a desktop PC to the MacBook Pro and love it so much I'll never go back again!

I was! And that was very nice of you not to run me over, Blondie. How cool that you re4cognised me - I feel rather like a celebrity hahaha. Please do say hi next time.

I love my laptop as well - there is nothing quite like outdoor blogging. In the summer, anyway.

That sucks. Our hookup here in the apartment makes it so my roommate and I can't be on the computer at the same time because I use the desk computer and he uses the laptop, but he doesn't have a wireless card. We have to share the connection. It's annoying as hell.

You poor child! Tell your beloveds it's more important that you get online because of your commitment to entertaining us daily.

Still have that Nancy Drew on my shelf. It was my first ND, so I'll keep it always.

Bah! Power cord issues are horrible. As I type this I get nervous. I think I should order a back up, just to be safe. I hope you guys are able to live in peace using the same laptop.

I'll be coming back for pictures of old folks and puppies. Don't be tardy ;)

I have heard of this phenomena often before. Or was it just here? I'm not sure. My chord, thankfully, is keeping quiet.

I've been on many topless laps. I like amazonian women who like to put me in a diaper and...

Wait...

You almost got me...

We're talking about those new kinds of personal computers that fold into book like shapes aren't we?

Huh...

Disregard the mandiaper thing I was just kidding.

This is awesome - The word verification code to post is:

I can't believe your cord is chirping again. I suspect a problem with your laptop or power source is causing the cord to burn out.

You would have to be a saint to be able to live with an arrangement like that, Beckeye. Funny you never struck me as the saintly type, but I have been wrong before.

Those were great retro covers, Beth! You must keep that book always.
I shall tell the family that your needs come before theirs. I'm sure they will understand.

I think I will order a backup as well, Al, because you know I will be going through the same issue again in the spring.

You probably heard about it ad nauseum right here, Justrun. It's a recurring theme around this blog, I'm afraid.

Only you could be assigned such an appropriate, I mean INappropriate, word verification, Jetson.
Those newfangled computers think they are so darned smart. I understand if you drop them a couple of times it teaches them who's boss.

You could very well be right, Just A. That's why they took the entire machine this time, to check the jack and the motherboard and such. I'm thinking of going back to stone and chisel.

Ug! I hate puter problems. I can't get online at all right now. I have no idea what's up with that. Too busy at work to be able to blog then either :O( This weekend is going to suck not being able to blog and facebook to my heart's content. I hope you get some time in on the shared computer Barb! XO

That sucks donkey balls, Mel! Was it because of that big windstorm out your way?

I hope you can find some real life people to play with this weekend instead.

Could you pretty please with cherries and sprinkles on top, resend it to me?? :O) Im trying to write a list of stuff I lost, and it's just mind-boggling!

Barbara Bruederlin said...

Doesn't that just make you ill when that happens, Mel? I feel your pain.
And sure, I will send Jarvis over.
