where is my mind?

Actually where is my whole head?

Somebody broke in here when I had my back turned and stole my avatar.

I've got no time to worry about my missing likeness at this point though, as we are nailing down the details on some exciting developments here at Casa Zombie and are making trips back and forth to the bank.

And tonight we're heading off to my favourite playhouse for the first production in Sage Theatre's tenth season, The Lion in the Streets. Look for a review tomorrow and more details on the shenanigans happening on the Zombie homefront.

Here is the Friday Random Playlist that kept me grooving while I was doing some Friday Random Bathroom Cleaning:

Falling into the sky - Great Lake Swimmers
Flamingo baby - the Violent Femmes
Angel of Harlem - U2
Red rain - Peter Gabriel
At least that's what you said - Wilco
In between days - the Cure
Tourette's - Nirvana
My rights versus yours - the New Pornographers
I'm afraid of Japan - Final Fantasy
Hand in glove - the Smiths
Go forth into the weekend with your head intact and your groove thang firmly on.
Because you look so cool when you dance like that.

I heard "In Between Days" on the radio earlier today.

This is not completely related, but I was in a store and heard New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle." I don't think I'm ever going to get used to the odd little songs of my generation becoming mainstream.

Exciting "developments"? Zombie Land barons? Are you shopping for something large, perhaps bigger than a breadbox? Ooooh exciting. Will you be my evil landlord?

Ohhh, we both have a touch of Nirvana this week, how cool! I hope you have a fabulous time tonight!

Maybe it's time for a new avatar? :O)

Your random playlist isn't as indie as at typically is. Still good though!

Today in celebration of birth month, I gifted myself tickets to
A) Taj Mahal at House of Blues in November
B) Spoon (whoever that is) New Pornographers and Emma Pollock in November at HOB, also
C) Gogol Bordello at Granada Theater Oct 21.

All that good music in celebration of OUR birth month. WOOHOO!

Also picked up the new PJ Harvey and the New Porno's latest.

Can't wait for the big reveal of the exciting developments at casa del Zombiosa

I know exactly what you mean, Johnny. Even the Buzzcocks are selling shit on tv commercials these days. And Iggy Pop has now officially has been pimping cruises forever.

It is bigger than any breadbox I have ever laid eyes upon, Karen. Evil landlord sounds fun, but you'd have a long commute.

I do believe it is time for a new avatar anyway, Mel, and perhaps a new photo hosting site. I thinking of going with something a little less representational this time.
Weird how Nirvana is showing up all over the place these days.

It is pretty mainstream, innit, John? Perhaps it's because I was cleaning toilets at the time - a most unindie activity.

Now you dance, muthafucka, dance! ... Sorry Zed, sometimes the Violent Femmes lyrics just overtake me.

The 80s are all over the place this week, Bubs and you know how I like to stay current. Or retro, I guess.

Nicely done, Phlegmfatale! You know how to do up a birthday month with style! We will have to compare notes on the New Pornos concert. I'm seeing them this month, without Spoon, who are okay, but I'm not a huge fan.
And Gogol Bordello! How jealous am I? Answer: very. Their shows are insane!

Yeah, I caught their show last time they were in Dallas - I met accordionist Yury and we hit it off. Incidentally, his wife's name is Rita, too. Fun, wild, sexy bunch of people. I plan to sweat buckets and get my ass-shake on. I'm already getting all tingly just thinking about it. Two weeks from tomorrow.

Oh Barb! check your email!! *bounce bounce bounce*

I forgot that you are close personal friends with Gogol Bordello, Phlegmmy. Oh I do expect copious notes be posted about this concert.

Just did, Mel, that is so amazing!

I hear and obey.
