I am outta here!

You won't be seeing my ugly mug around here this weekend. I am off for my annual Womanly Weekend with the Marthas.

On the agenda:
- Murder Mystery dinner theatre
- watching in admiration (but not actually participating in) Calgary's third annual Zombie Walk
- making our own waffles (badly) at the continental breakfast
- hanging about downtown, perhaps taking in an art house flick
- fine dining
- even finer snacking
- way too much giggling
- not enough sleep
.
When I get back I will fill you in on all the debauchery.
.
I will also let you know all about the Final Fantasy concert at the Warehouse last night.
Expect way too much gushing! And a Final Fantasy song about Calgary in a couple of albums, entitled "Outta the Way, Bitch".

Have a great time!

And *please* consider doing the zombie walk!

There are really so few bad-tempered zombies roaming the earth.

Owen was amazing, again on Thursday night. It kills me that I didn't bring enough money for merch and cd's. What a fabulous concert, I loved "Win and Regine" and "the CN Tower belongs to the dead" and "Paris 1919" and pretty much everything.

Well, have fun and when you return, hopefully I have finally taken the time for this Final Fantasy guy.

oh, this explains everything - planes crashing into buildings and the whole world going crazy. The Marthas are on the loose!!

I tell Linds all the time about your wonderfulness and, just today, we were talking about zombies (she, too, is one). She asked if you do the "Zombie walk", so I'll have to show her this post.

Have a great time Martha #1 and know that we miss you too.

now who can I tell about Austin City Limits?....the Decemberists are performing The Crane Wife tonight, so I'm going to watch it, in your honor.

Here's to a weekend full of excesses.

Wow. I wish I had myself a pack of Marthas to raise hell with. Have a blast, honey!

Sounds like a great weekend you gots planned for yourself there. Especially the zombie walk. Have fun!

I know, Splotchy, most Zombies are so polite and mild-mannered. No wait, that's Canadians.
Sadly the zombie walk was cancelled, due to lack of permits. Next year!

Wasn't it a great concert, Hilary? One of the most fun I've seen, but I'm sorry I missed you in the crowd. I loved that O Palz was selling his own merch, and signing shirts. What a dear. He played almost all my favourites.

Way too much giggling, Karen. I don't plan to laugh for the next week, to make up for it.

I'll put up some Final Fantasy songs later, Will , he really is unique, much like the Passionistas are (but different sound of course).

Oh I'm so glad you caught the Decemberists on ACL, Deb! I just happened to get advance notice of it, so taped it while I was gone and I can't wait to watch.
I'm really glad to hear that Linds is a zombie too. I knew there was a real she is such a great kid (besides her awesome mother, that is). Is she doing a Zombie Walk too?

It was an excess of excesses, John. No need for me to eat or spend money on cds for the next while. Totally worth it though!

I firmly believe everybody needs themselves a pack of Marthas, Phlegmfatale. I just wish I got to see mine more often (but we are working on it).

The Zombies sadly did not walk, Bubs, not even lurch. But hopefully next year, the proper permits will be in place. Who knew zombies needed permits?

Is the Zombie Walk for real?

Barbara Bruederlin said...

It was last year and the year before, Danny, but sadly was cancelled due to permit issues this year. I never dreamed zombies needed a permit.

I need a great weekend like that. I should have checked in earlier and begged to tag along.

The weekend is over. Details please :) Especially on the Final Fantasy concert!!

I wish you had, Beth, I get the distinct feeling that you are Martha material!

Your wish is my command, Al. Well the O Palz part anyway.
