and what do you care, when the other men are far, far better

It's the weirdest thing. I'm sitting out in the backyard with my laptop on the glass patio table and for the last 20 minutes there have been about 50 or 60 seagulls swarming overhead. They are just circling and swooping, but really high up in the atmosphere. I wonder what's going on up there.

I can see their reflections in the tabletop and they look like those
little balls of mercury that you see in your peripheral vision sometimes. And now I have the urge to rub my eyes really hard so that I can see all those patterns and colours and spirograph shapes. I used to love doing that.

Eva took a couple of pictures of the circling seagulls, but they just look like somebody trying to fake a UFO shot.

I'm really glad I'm not going to work tomorrow, even though I still have so much work to do on this grant application, because I snapped at my colleague today when I misunderstood him and thought that he was saying that we should change the budget.

It's like Henry Ford said, the time when you should be taking a vacation is when you can least afford to be taking a vacation.

Good thing I'll soon be taking a vacation.

I love Stanley Donwood's art. He was just recently named one of the top illustrators in British media, though he is better known for his Rad
iohead album cover art.

hahaha sort of ambushed you there, Karen. Sorry. But at least there are no naked Tom Jones pics here (not that there ever would be).

If there is one thing that I want to accomplish before I die it is to get my art on an album! It's a big wish. No leads yet but one day, one day. Probably not going to be Radiohead. I couldn't possibly have that kind of luck!

I love the imagery of the seagulls reflected in the tabletop and the faked UFO shots Barbara. That's art.

I love when I peruse my blogroll and find exactly what should be on everyone's blogs. Well, I've only been to two so far but Beth talked about R.E.M. and you talked about Radiohead. All is right with the world. (For my part, I haven't blogged since Monday but I still keep mentioning Glenn Tilbrook on it.)

Maybe you read it here during Radiohead week in the spring, Beth? I got a little obsessive.

That would be extremely cool, Serah! Your art would be so perfect as album art, I can absolutely see that. It's going to happen.

Just call me Stanley from now on, Dale.

Are we really so predictable, Beckeye? I'm starting to suspect we are.

I really like the Radiohead cover art too. Excited that they'll be publishing his art in a coffee table book - http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/news/44901-apparently-no-new-radiohead-album-in-2007

Gasp! I didn't know that, Will! I know what I want for Christmas. Thanks for the link - I haven't been over to pitchfork for ages - heading over to read the story.

I love the Radiohead album covers! I hope you enjoy your vacation Barb. I have to work this Sat and Sun, but I get four fabulous days off next week to spend with Dev!!! (only one day paid, but it's better than a kick in the pants!)

I'm so glad you get some vacation time to spend with Dev, Mel. This is the worst possible time for me to be taking vacation, but that's the only time it would work out all summer.
