Why do the best boys tease and taunt us so?

Barb, the world is truly ending. Yesterday I sort of, in a roundabout way, not on purpose, and without realizing it....defended Radiohead.

I'd like to apologize to the world for bringing on the apocalypse.

I suppose it is all part of the game. Or, you know, someone not having enough money for something.

How rude! But just think, you know it will be worth the wait :)

They are just toying with my heart because they can, Beth.

Hang on, Karen, I need to sit down.
I'm working under the assumption that it had more to do with Radiohead's politics or their environmental stance than their music, but if you tell me that is not the case, then I am going to start stocking up on ammo for the coming fire fight.

Apparently it was partly because they currently have no record label, so were under no time constraints, Justrun. Understandably, a lot of dicking around took place.

Judging from what being played at concerts etc, it is going to be so worth the wait, Al. And I am hearing rumours of Radiohead playing Glastonbury in 08. Pack your wellies!

No Barb, I can't hide behind their "politics or their environmental stance". While I was listening to the radio, one of coworkers wandered over and said that it sounded like Rufus Wainright (it was). She then said something about Radiohead sounding like Mr. Wainright. I responded with "Don't you mean Rufus sounds like Radiohead? They were here first!" I was quite forceful in my defensiveness. When I realized what I had done, I had to go and lie down...

Ok, not the most interesting story, but there you go.

Are you kidding me, Karen? This is quite possibly the biggest news to hit the blogosphere since PH was released from doing hard time!

I hope you have recovered from the shock of your own actions and can go in peace, knowing that you did the right thing.

Now are we talking a new release here or a tour/show you're looking forward to?...although I love Radiohead, I'm not very up to date on their current news. Possibly it's a lunch date that you have with them?

If Heinz has taught me anything it's that good things come to those who wait.

Wait a sec.

Why'd they start using the squeezable bottle then?!

Damn you, Heinz.

And where's the Radiohead in a squeezable bottle? Huh?

They're breaking my balls, Chuck. :/

I loves me the shit out of some Thom Yorke - been listening him in the car all the time for weeks. yeah, new stuff!

Barbara Bruederlin said...

It is indeed a lunch date, Deb; we're going to Thom's favourite restaurant, McDonalds, topped up with a swing by Starbucks.
Nah, it's an album release, but I can dream.

Those Heinz bastards, they're all rush-rush-rush like the rest of the world now. Although I doubt I would have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out, John. Until I ran into my first squeezable bottle of Radiohead, that is.

hahaha, I was thinking the same thing, Eva, as were Radiohead, I'm sure, seeing as they have actually met Cartman.

Ooops, missed you there, Phlegmfatale. It's going to be a really good album, too, from the bits I ave been hearing - a bit of a return to guitar rock. Yes!

Some twit once said something about how all good things take time to those who wait amen expelliarmus.

Just think of the energy that's gonna be in whatever venue they get, even more than what Radiohead's fans already generate (being one myself)!

(btw, it's me michelle, hi how are ya?)

I recognised you right away, Michelle de la mange. Ain't nobody can turna phrase quite like you can.
Yes, people should be well and truly pumped for this release. And I still owe you an email - dang where does the time go?

You said it best, Stephanie!

New and Used Records said...

oh blogger! didn't i comment on this post. anyway, yeah those radioheads like to keep us waiting. and i have a rule about not listening to "leaked" radiohead, so the wait will be extra long for me.

Barbara Bruederlin said...

Oh sure, but then I'll be onto the next injury, Johnny. I like how you are looking on the bright side though.

Is he doing a show in Calgary, Jen? Hell, yeah, we'd go to that! You've been to one of his spoken word shows, haven't you?

I have no restraint, myself, Will and have been listening to all manner of leaked Radiohead songs. But you will no doubt get a special place in heaven.
