But please come back tomorrow and I will tell you all about:
- how Chad Van Gaalen is Calgary's musical ambassador
- how Dan Bejar is as odd as he looks
- free cds from Winnipeg bands
- how the Grand Theatre is now officially my favourite Calgary venue
- how Woodpigeon brought their parents and they all stayed to rock out to the Constantines
- how the Constantines just keep getting better each time
- and much more, including plaid-clad rock gods, Presbyterian bums, and accordion players with Turkey t-shirts who show up everywhere
Good night.

These are all new to me. Which is the most original of the Calgary Beat Bands?
Busy Bee.
Four nights of music festival? I could not have done it, either. Heck, I barely made it through one day/night of tailgating and concert.
It seems that you had a lot of fun, can't wait to hear more about the Festival (and about those bands that I don't know very well!)
There were so many bands that I did not get to see, Danny, and I'm afraid I am not familiar with all the bands either, so I couldn't say. Next year, though, I'm going to take some vacation days and hit a few more nights.
It's the tailgating part that'll wear you out, Justrun. You folks take that very seriously, very seriously indeed.
I wish I could have cloned myself, Evelyne, as there was stuff happening at up to 12 venues at one point. And some of the shows were a wee bit too late for me - Hylozoists didn't start playing till after 1:00.
Plaid-rock guys??? Oh, do tell more.
I found purple plaid this weekend (in the form of a cute shirt), was very happy about this.
Can't wait to read more, hope you're having a good weekend :)
Cool! Glad you had a blast - knew you would!
I LOVE the purple plaid, Al!
The plaid-clad rock god has the most powerful voice in Canada and fronts the hardest working band in the country. Whom I love with all my heart. Guesses?
PF, before long, folks are going to be heading to Calgary as well as Austin for all the indie music you need to hear. Trust me.
I love that you tease us and leave us hanging. Can't wait to read about the festival!!!
Sorry, Beth, it wasn't an intentional tease, just life getting in the way of the important stuff. Review is now up!
