Mama's got a squeezebox statcounter

How on earth did I survive without a statcounter? I can't believe how much fun this new toy is. There go yet more hours of my life that I'll never get back from that giant black hole we like to call the internetz. Why, the keyword analysis function alone provides hours of merriment.

A lot of you have in the past shared some of the keyword searches from your statcounter. Seen any good ones lately?

These are a few of my favourites that people have used to find their way to Bad Tempered Zombie:

Gotta love google.

Also gotta love those fine folks putting together the inaugural Sled Island Music Festival (June 27-30). They just added one of my favourite bands of all time to see live to the lineup - the magnificent Constantines! The Cons are sharing the stage with a band that I have been wanting to see perform for a long time, Calgary's Wood Pigeon.

I think we are going to stop at two nights of concert-going, as some of these shows go pretty late. Hylozoists aren't even scheduled to start playing until 1:00am. I can't keep up to this rock star life.

You sure can't beat the price though. I'll be seeing 7 bands for $47. And you can see about a gagillion bands for I think around $150, which gets you the four-day pass.

Okay, enough pimping.

I get a scary number of people searching for Will Ferrell's Patriotic Thong.

I regularly post keyword searches on my blog. I just did one today, actually. It is absolutely amazing what people out there are Googling. Have fun with the new toy; I spend hours playing with it myself/

Is there something you're not telling us, John? Are you selling those things?

Oh no, does that mean it's never going to get old, Wandering Coyote? I may just have to quit my job.

Boobs festival doesn't start till the 15th, Just A. But that simu-posting, that was pretty great, wasn't it? Ahhhh!

I briefly made mention of the SNL sketch.

Obviously that little discretionary slip will haunt you the rest of your life, John.

oh sounds too fun!!

Not sure if I can go to the folk fest this year, and if I do it'll be for Saturday only. And it doesn't help that I don't know whose playing this year - Be Good Tanyas and.....???

Is statcounter the same as sitemeter? If so, I'm morally against that, but to each there own. I have enough trouble trying to hide from google ;)

You are going to be doing some serious concert going soon! I'm, of course, jealous, but look forward to hearing all the details!!

I love the internet search thingies. Mine didn't work for the longest time, til I figured out I needed the java version over the html one.

I'm lucky this year to be going to all 4 days of the folk fest, Serah, even though I can only do 2 days of Sled Island. You guys don't seem to have all your acts listed yet, although I noticed Goeff Berner at the Vancouver folk fest. See him if you get a chance - he's outrageous!

I imagine they're similar,Al, although I'm not sure. I had a few twinges using it at first, but soon got past that as it was just too much fun. Hell that's what cookies are for, aren't they? Or perhaps I'm just evil.
I shall do my best to keep you fully informed of all the concert goodness going down.

I got the version for idiots, I think, Mel, which works just fine for me. It's pretty fascinating, actually to see some of the far-flung places your visitors come from. Mine has the country's flag beside the link, which is really cool.

I don't know ... a Stat Counter seems like a straight shot down "Lower your self esteem lane." I mean, I think I always find myself wanting more hits, so it's probably best I don't know how many. As long as you can have fun with it, though, then that rocks.

I don't know Will, it's not so much the numbers that interest me, it's where people are in the world, what they were looking for, that sort of thing. More of a sociological than a marketing thang.

New and Used Records said...

Yeah, that's true. It is really fascinating when you see hits in far off places. That is pretty cool.

I love seeing the different flags, Will.

You should add that Killing Joke song "The fall of because"

Camel toes are tough but they build character I'm sure. Those site meter thingys are addictive!

Barbara Bruederlin said...

I don't know that song, PF - you'll have to fill me in when you get a chance.

I don't have time to talk, Dale, I've got to go check my stat counter!
