I'm back to save the universe

Okay a slight exaggeration perhaps. I've probably just been listening to OK Computer a little too much today (like that's even possible).

I was supposed to work today, but since the rest of the family got the day off, there was no way I was going to drag my lazy ass out of bed at 6:00 and sit in a dingy non-windowed room all day while they eat bonbons and watch Jerry Springer or whatever they do when I'm not around.
Actually I think I'm going to suggest that I get an increase in my vacation allotment at work. That would make up for the fact that I haven't had a raise in seven years. We scrimp for every dollar at work, so I purposefully haven't been asking for a raise, but I could sure use more vacation time.
And yes, I realize that yesterday being Sunday means that I should have awarded a Labia Award, but frankly I was too full of turkey drug to make that kind of momentous decision. I still can't decide. Here, I'll show you what I mean. Here are some of the awesome-possum labels I had to contend with this week (in no particular order):
*~*
" how come all my friends are in dubai or hawaii or whatever and I'm stuck playing neopets on my laptop at home" (Hilary)
-
"all that money and i get a degree written entirely in a dead language and left justified" (Allison)
-
"crap one of my sock was pink and black and the other one was blue and black" (Evelyne)
-
"wasabi pea dependency" (Mel)
-
"it was easier to get rid of the ex" (Deb)
-
"when labels attack" (Dale)
-
"if I get sick it's Allison's fault" (668)
-
"there are worse things than scary clowns like giant rabbits with dead black eyes" (Bubs)
*~*
Do you see what an onerous task this is? How does one decide amongst such boffo contenders?
Which one would get your vote?

Are you on the Radiohead payroll???

All those labels are deserving of your award. A lot of funny peeps out there in the blogosphere.

Happy belated easter! :)

I like "if I get sick it's Allison's fault"

I missed "how come all my friends are in dubai or hawaii or whatever and I'm stuck playing neopets on my laptop at home" by Hilary, that gets my vote!

Aah, spring break.
Unfortunatly, you aren't missing much. Daytime TV has lost its charm. I swear if I make myself sit through another episode of that "Little People, Big World"...

Those labels are showing some excellent humour, I definitely couldn't decide on a clear front-runner.

You would almost think I was, wouldn't you, Will? But no, just another mere mortal worshipping at the altar.
Yeah, people have really gone above and beyond this week and pulled out all their witticisms, making my job next to impossible. Again.

Haha that one is a beaut, Mel! The label as opportunity to lay blame elsewhere.

Another fine choice, Al! A good combination of envy and pathos.

I have the same problem, Hilary - too much clever goodness this week.
What is with that Little People Big World show? Is that the most boring thing in existence or what?

Those are some awesome labels there. I'd take the lazy way out and call it a tie on account of it being Easter and all. Tell them the Aquabunny made you do it.

I had the exact same thought when I awoke at 5:00 a.m. and therefore did not go to work, either. It was really not as difficult a decision as it maybe should have been.

Easter is largely to blame, Toccata, what with all the turkey drug in my system. I'm taking option 3 though, and making others decide.

Well done, Justrun! Those "screw it, I'm staying home" decisions should always be the easiest ones to make. Although to be honest, I booked the day off last week.

It was pretty dead at work today, Barb. Good you took the day off to be with family. Very dull day!

Barbara Bruederlin said...

What, there was no disco dance party at work, Jas? I'm shocked!

I gotta go with Bubs.

Easter Monday was hard day to work at looking for work let alone working..
That cat looks like his needs his dignity back..
How are you all?
Sorry I have not been blogging around much. Been working on projects and job hunting.

It's true, they are all good but I'd flip a coin between Allison and Mell.

Ah yes, another fine choice, BeckEye! Some things never lose their power to terrorize.

I always had a final exam to write on Easter Monday during university, Barbara W; it never failed. I think we should get Easter Tuesday off as well.

They are both boffo choices, Leazwell! The majesty of the left-justified degree is pretty awesome, but the heartbreak of wasabi pea dependency is very poignant.

I'd seen Allison's label before I had the nerve to go on 'oliday and I vote for her! (and everyone else too).

They are all winners in my heart, Dale. Glad to have you safely back in the fold.
