Message from Bruno

I talked to Bruno tonight and he sounds so much better than he did on Monday night (before he was admitted) when he was struggling for air between sentences. Looks like he may still be in hospital for his birthday though, which is on Tuesday.

Wonder if I should get a strip-a-gram delivered to his room or something?

Bruno was all verklempft when he read this blog and all your kind comments, and you know that we Germans do not klempf easily. So thank you from Bruno for all your kind thoughts. It really meant so much to him.

We were much closer to losing him than we realised. He had been struggling with chest pain and lack of oxygen for two weeks before he was diagnosed, and apparently most fatalities from blood clots in the lungs occur within one hour. It's a testiment to his extreme level of fitness that he survived. They are rewriting all the medical books and naming the new wing in the hospital after him.

I am happy to report also that I talked to Bruno this evening and he almost sounds normal (for him)!!We are going for a visit tomorrow and will bring him a Tim's double double as requested.

He does sound much more like his bad self, doesn't he, Berni? I called just after you did and they were trying to take his supper away, which he still hadn't been able to eat yet, with all those sisters phoning him!

That double double is going to taste so good!

Glad to hear the good news.
Yes on the strip o gram it'll make the hospital wing naming more interesting.

Yes! Send a strip-a-gram, gawd that would be hilarious!!

I'm truly happy to hear he's getting better. I can't believe he went two weeks without knowing! He must be in tip-top shape. Wow.

Hopefully he'll be able to recover nicely, and come and visit you all soon :)

That has got to be the best news I have heard all day! Yeah, Bruno.

A strip-a-gram and double double what more could a recovering patient want!

Great news guys! I think you should now call your brother Superman Barb.

A strip-o-gram would be a very good birthday present...oooo, could he take that??

A double double strip o gram? Is that twins or something? Maybe I misread something,,,

In all seriousness though, glad to hear things are looking up.

I am so glad to hear that he is doing well, Barb.
Do you remember Guido from Dr Power's lab? He too had a pulmonary embolism last October.

haha, yeah JustA, maybe they could call it the Woody Wing, or something.

I don't even know how to send a strip-a-gram, Allison, I was just yammering. My education is so lacking.

Best news all day, Mel!

I was really happy too, Evelyne.

How Canadian is that, eh Toccata? Providing she is wearing a lumber jacket, that is.

I'll have to contact you for details on how you order one, 668.

Are you kidding, Kelly? Your good eye would fall out!

Now don't go making his head any bigger than it already is, Deb. But yeah, a strip-a-gram could be contraindicated by his physician.

It's twin strippers who work at Tim Hortons, John. They also bring coffee and a maple-glazed doughnut.

No, I didn't know that about Guido, Jas! How is he doing now?

Thanks Brian, I'm really relieved too. Can't reach him tonight as he is likely out bombing around the hospital in his wheelchair.

Thanks Barbara W, I appreciate the thoughts.

haha Dale, when I first read your comment in my email, I thought you were referring to Jarvis Cocker, singing Fat Children!
Yup, Bruno is ready for his closeup Mr DeMille.
