It's of vital importance to my research

I know that I've shown you this Weakerthans video before, but it's one of my all-time favourites. And besides they played Our Retired Explorer (Dines with Michel Foucault in Paris, 1961) on Definitely Not The Opera today and it made me all happy. Now the Weakerthans just need to work on getting some new material on disc. Do you hear me, John K Samson? Or at least bring your lovely selves back to Calgary again.

Actually, DNTO had a lot of great music today. Check out Mika, who wants to be like Grace Kelly, but sounds more like Freddy Mercury. Fabulous.

PLUS, the third hour of DNTO featured a Hidden Cameras concert. Yowza!

And if one Weakerthans video is good, two are better, so here's the video for The Reasons as well. Enjoy, my pretties!

And interesting (or not) aside: sled dogs don't bark when their pulling. But man, I love the cheese in Weakerthans vids.

OMFG... did I just write their when I meant they're? It's been a long day of framing.

You've changed your name, Teddy!

Nice plot hole spotting! I would imagine that sled dogs don't bark while running, although I can forgive the Weakerthans any amount of reality failure and cheesiness.

I love everything in the sidebar Barb!! Very funny.

You know, these days the only music videos I do watch are when people post them on the blogs. So thanks for the (re)post, clearly I missed them the first time around!

I'm with Allison, if it weren't for brilliant bloggers posting their favourite things, I might never go looking for them. Good work Barbara! Fun tunes and videos.

I liked the barking sled dogs!

Sadly, Jarvis has to be special ordered. What's up with that? I decided to wait and try a couple of other stores first. Besides if I have to special order it I'm going to do so through a small independent music store.

I'm glad you enjoyed them, Allison. The Weakerthans don't put out many videos, but the ones they do are worth watching.

teehee Dale called me brilliant! That does it, I'm posting videos forever now!

That's weird, Toccata, I was able to get it at HMV, of all places. Mnd you it was the only copy. Drives me crazy some of the music you cannot get here.

I was downtown which doesn't have an HMV. Looks like I'll have to bike to the mall.

Barbara Bruederlin said...

Yuck, the mall! At least you'll get a bike ride out of it, Toccata.

That Mika has some great pipes.

Though, I have to wonder why all myspace musican bloggers are compelled to blog strictly about themselves when really we want to hear them sing and know what they think about the new hot Reality Tv cast.

Still, what a fine singer. It's a rare gem that can pull off a Fred Mercury comparison.

He is pretty darn fabulous isn't he, JustA? And I can't get that song Grace Kelly out of my head.

I'll bet he's got some dirt on Simon Crowell though.

Isn't it great, PF? You gotta love dancing like that in videos.

I am writing to you from the future! Deep into 2013, I have just had a Thw Weakerthans dance party. Love this video. So glad you have shared it here.

Say hello to the future for me, Missy! Some day we will be in the same time space continuum and we will dance.
