This is how lame we are - look at the date on the box of hats and noise-makers.
We've been using the same box for 7 years!
But the cat was getting right funky.
To start the year off right, I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining the writing team at the Record Room.
Through the tireless efforts of the editors, Will and Ben, the Record Room boasts a rock-solid reputation as a premier source of music reviews.
Please drop by over the next while to check out the contributions from the new crack team of writers.
coming up:
- photos of the Alaskan King Crab New Year's blow-out, along with the officious devouring of the Momus cookie
- lots and lots of lists

Happy New Year! Congrats on the new writing job. I know you will do a bang up job, you are an exceptional writer!!!

Thought Grant was hosting new year this year? hehe Or at least that is what he threatened last year? lol Oh well. We have a quiet one, just Lar, Kate and me. Al is of course too old to hang with the parents now! hehe

Have a great one and hope we can connect soon!!

Happy New Year!!! I just hung my calendar and loaded up the sink with the year's first load of dishes (yay?) haha! I'm so thrilled that you and Allison are joining Will and Ben's team at The Record Room! I'm looking forward to lots of great music in 2007. (Im counting on you ;) Have you heard anything about the compilation CDs we voted on? (just curious) I can't wait to see your photos.

PS I dont think you're lame for using old noise makers...we didn't have any at all, but my drum!!!

Thanks Bev! I needed yet another blog to write for in all my spare time hahaha! JK - I'm very pleased and excited about the collaboration.
There were rumblings of Grant hosting a New Year's but they sort of died out late November. There is not a thing wrong with a quiet New Year's. I'm hoping we can see you guys early February - details to come.

Woohoo nothing like the year's first load of dishes, Mel. You sure walk on the wild side.
I've got some pretty talented people that I have to keep up with now - yikes. Good thing I'm doing all this clean living.
I haven't heard about the compilation cd yet either.

Thanks Rob - right back at ya!

Brilliant Barbara! Congratulations on the writing, you're so excellent at it! And what's wrong with using the 2000 paraphenelia? Since the world was supposed to end then, it seems fitting. Happy New Year!

Awww shucks, Dale, thanks! *scuffs toe in dirt*

I do feel a little ripped off that the world did not end in 2000 - all that prep for naught. I guess you're right - the world owes me the right to use 2000 noisemakers.

Thanks Toccata! That is so sweet. It's going to be a great experience I think. I already heard one great song from Randy's post today.

That sounds like a great new years, I'm taking a note from your book and going mellow next year!

Mellow is the only way to be, Allison. Although my favourite would be a party with a few friends and a whack of board games.

You had Alaskan King Crab? Now I'm totally jealous of your New Year's Eve!!!! Happy New Year!!! (belated, let's see if this will post, haha)

I thought you islanders ate crab with every meal, Maureen. Although I guess not Alaskan. We had a huge feed and I've got some photos I really should post.

Nah, it's all about lobster here, which I had twice the week before xmas, mwahaha. Tomorrow night it's trout :)

MMMMMMM you do eat well, Maureen! We're having hamburgers.
