Keep off the crack; respect your Nan
... and other Christmas sentiments
Round about this time every year, I find I need a break from all the Christmas hype, or I'll be burned out come Christmas Day.
Other than picking up the entire Seasons 4 and 5 of South Park from the video store (but those are earmarked for later in the week - for pyjama day), I find that gems like this clip of Jarvis Cocker singing Help the Aged with Ali G usually hit the spot.
Besides, with all the emphasis on Borat lately, isn't it time we brought back Ali G?
"Me Nan is 63, her name be Sheila, she always on the phone to her muthafuckin dealah"

Ali G is funnier than Borat anyway; although I didn't think he spoke Canadian.

Cool Cat - Canadian he speaks not, but I'm pretty sure I heard him say a few phrases in Bloguban.

Well that was pretty classic ... I have not seen much of Mr. G's BBC work, so I'm glad there is still a whole world there for me to discover. Hopefully they do bring some back. I do love "Help the Aged" but that was probably the best version out there. I'm glad Jarvis was all in good humour about the thing, and not - as the brits like to say - a prick.

Will have to wait on playing the clip. The computer here is in a rather communal location.
Somehow I don't think Ali G and the Choir of New College, Oxford would mix too well!

Hope you are having a fantabulous Christmas and I look forward to reading your many blogs you promised!

There are a lot I haven't seen as well, Will. I'm mostly familar with da Ali G show, not the format in the video clip.
Wasn't Jarv sweet about it all? Even if he did look like a kiddy-fiddlah.
I think I might search a few more clips out over the break.

That's probably a very wise decision, Toccata - Ali G is a trifle on the profane side.
We are having a grand Christmas, I'm really starting to relax. I hear that you've had some snow there - must be lovely.

Great clip Barbara! Definately helps ease all the stress we're feeling this time of year. I probably won't end up seeing Borat until it's released on video but I'm hoping and praying that Sacha decides to make an Ali G movie. Hilarious. All the best to you and yours!

Love Ali G, most of the time, he used to make me squirm a little with some of his interview pieces but overall, he's pretty hilarious. Thanks Barbara, stay off the crack!

I may see the Borat movie-film over the break, Karen, but likely will wait until it's on video as well. I think too many people know Ali G now for it to work in its traditional format, but a movie would be awesome.
Best to you at Christmas as well!

He's got the squirm factor working for him, Dale, working full-time!
I'm trying to stay off the crack this Chrismas, but you know what it's like when family and neighbours come over and they're all like "oh just one little pipe - it's Christmas".

Finally, the comments have appeared! And now I have forgotten what I was going to say...seeing as I can't view the clip either I'm really just babbling here.

Hope you're relaxing, and enjoying Christmas eve day. I'm thinking today is going to be a PJ day, except I've been informed I need to go out and get a carton of milk, not a jug, but a carton. In Ontario we have bags, so I know not the difference between carton and jug. But you know what the means? I have to go back to the Wal-Mart supercentre :S *insert me crying*

NOOOOOOOO, Allison, not the WalMart Super Centre!!!!!!!! And when you were planning a pyjama day as well. That is so cruel.

btw a jug had a handle and is usually plastic, while a cartoon is cardboard. You might as well get some vegetables while you are there I guess.
