Is it just me, or does anybody else think it would be preferable to gouge their own eyes out with a spoon rather than try to upload pictures to Blogger lately?
The Zombie Family Album will have to wait for another day, I guess.
I didn't see another adult in costume until noon today, and although my goal for the day was to accept candy every time it was offered, no candy was to be found. I even went up to the library to visit Annley and to show her my costume and she didn't even have any in her little candy bowl. And Annley always has candy!
But we did have a kick-ass potluck lunch with food from all over the world. Just one of the joys of working in a multicultural institution. And George was dressed as a marshmallow.

It just took me half an hour to upload one picture so I know what you mean.
It's up though. I gave up trying to get my co-workers picture up she was a retro stewardess today... It was a good costume.. bloody blogger picture uploader...

Your picture looks ultracool, Barbara W.

I hope to be able to post some pics tomorrow, providing Blogger stops being a butt-wipe.

I'm thinking a fork over a spoon, that's how angry Blogger is making me.
Looking forward to seeing your pics, whenever they arise.
A marshmellow costume?? How fun! I was a pumpkin for my first Hallowe'en, this year I was going to go as a estranged 1950s housewife (fits with the thesis), except actual work on the thesis kept me from going out. I'm so over this academia thing ;P

Forks are serious business, Allison.
And estranged 1950s housewife? Oh you would have totally kicked ass with that! Hopefully the spirit of the costume that should have been will keep you inspired on this academic path (at least for as long as it takes).
George was totally cute. He's a young black guy and he was dressed all in white: white sweat pants, big white puffy jacket and white hat, and when someone asked him about it, he said, with a huge grin "I'm a marhmallow". It was so adorable.

I have been trying to upload since 7 pm, and I finally got them done now...after 11 pm. What a pain.

I ran into costumed adults around 7:30am this morning walking up downtown Granville street to work this morning. It was great. The office Im in this week didnt have candy, but the lady Im working with doing the archiving gave me a cadbury thins chocolate bar :) I looooove cadbury milk choclate...sugar rush MMMMM
I can't wait to see the photos, and a marshmellow costume sounds hilarious!!! Remember those puffy winter jackets from the 80s? They kind of reminded me of marshmellows :)

Yes, I just tried to upload my family fun pics from last night and no luck...it'll have to wait until later.

Your photos look good, Jas! I'm glad you have them up now, except looking at them, I want another truffle spider.

That's what he was wearing, Mel! He looked so cute, especially as he was so pleased with himself for the costume. I'm glad you got to see some costumes that early in the morning - that's a great way to set the bar for the day. I did startle several people yesterday and that was mega fun.

8 kids, 668? Man you've got a pile of leftover candy eating to take care of! We had about 30, but dang it was cold!
I gaev up on the photos after about half an hour. I'll try again today.

It's really irritating, isn't it, Karen? I hope you can get them up today - I'd like to peek at them.

I tend to assume that it is somehow my fault! LOL! I have been lazy lately and don't bother. Plus no photos. I keep forgeting my camera.

I've noticed that about Blogger too.

I'm envious about the multi-cultural potluck. Every Sunday night we get together with a friend and eat food from the country they'll be visiting on that night's Amazing Race. We cooked Mauritian food last Sunday. Until that point I hadn't even heard of Mauritius. It took a lot of googling to find recipes, but the end result was yummy.

Got my pictures up just before leaving the house this morning...yay! They're a bit shaky but I figure it was due to the sugar overload I was experiencing at that point.

Can't wait to see your pics!

Oh, Gawd. Welcome to my nightmare. I prefer to post w/ photos and well, when blogger starts acting up, I get frustrated. Does seem like blogger is acting up a lot lately - like a spoiled child.

I'm always able to upload images when blogger is having a problem.

Here's a little secret, the image is actually uploaded to their server, but their code times out.

So if you want to save yourself a ton of time and frustration with the image upload process follow these simple steps

Image Upload Trick

BOOYAH!

I blame Google. Ever since they bought Blogger we've had problems.

I've looked at Wordpress and it's so confusing. I'm gonna sit and eat candy

I looked around at a number of other blogging services too and I found most of them didn't offer the freedom to do what I wanted for the price I was willing to pay (ie: nothing).

Blogger does seem to be acting up a lot lately but can we really complain for something that is being provided to us for free?

Barbara Bruederlin said...

It's not your fault, Serah! I always forget the camera too, but that's just as well as I am an abysmal photographer.

What a fabulous idea, John! My sister and her friends got together every couple of months for years, nay decades, to do cook a national meal. I was always envious. But every week, you guys are ambitious, or have way too much energy.

My photos always look like I have sugar shakes, Karen, so I will feel right at home looking at yours.

A spoiled child that you just want to drown in the bathtub, Will. (Oh did I say that out loud?)

JACC, thanks! I am going to check that out post-haste. Another possibility is load them up to Bolt and copy the html.

Those events do seem to coincide, Ben. Hmmm. Of course, candy eating makes everything better...

Yes, it is free, Karen, but it's still annoying. But you are right, hard to complain at that price.

Yeah it was real slow for me today too. I resized my picture to 500 x 500 and it went right though after I did that.

Barbara Bruederlin said...

Good tip, Ocean. Your pictures are really cute too.

justacoolcat said...

Yeah, I know a lot of people that use Flikr for photo hosting too.

I'm too damn lazy to visit multiple sites to post images.

Barbara Bruederlin said...

I tried your method, JACC, but I did something wrong. I'll need to take another look at what you said exactly. I'm pretty lame at these things.

The little marshmallow guy has warmed my heart. What a bloody cutie.

He was completely adorable, Kees. I wish I had taken a photo, but as usual, did not have a camera along.
