Great chieftain O' the puddin'-race
... and tatties and neeps and all that
You would not believe how many recipes I have found for haggis - traditional haggis and kid-friendly haggis and even bagless haggis (which would actually make a pretty decent name for a band).
I have never eaten haggis and I'm not about to cook one tonight, but I'm game to try it. Somebody invite me to a Robbie Burns supper, already.
Did you know that you can buy all kinds of Robbie Burns Day speech packages on-line? This one is only $23.42 CA and if you order two products, you get $5.00 US off the second.
You get 7 speeches, and even a bonus speech: "How to deliver a speech like you're a pro even if you're scared to death of speaking in public."
A bargain at half the price!
Happy Robbie Burns Day!
In honour of the day, I will play only Scottish music. No great sacrifice there - Belle and Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand, Ball Boy, the Proclaimers.
I'm drooling, and it's not just the smell of the haggis.

They actually got me to try REAL haggis when I was in Scotland. I must also mention that for someone who won't even touch MEATLOAF (ick) you will know how drunk I was to try a bite. Now I can't eat fruitcake, because that it looked like when it (ahemmm) "re-appeared". HOWEVER - I'll take the hottie in the kilt - boy did we have some fun kilt watching over there! Whooo-hoooo!

See? You should have gone for the bagless haggis.

Thanks for the interesting visions of Kellee's infamous haggis-tasting incident LOLZ!

Kilt-watching - now there's a sport I can get behind. Sadly, I don't know who the guy in the picture is - just some random kilt-guy I stole from the internet.

Who is Robbie Burns?

Barb I LOVE SCOTLAND, but I love YOU TOO - for the love of god, don't eat it, don't eat it!!!!!
(that is not a challenge, it is strictly GOOD advice, PROMISE.) ;)
xoxoxo
I'll send ya some hotties in kilts pics instead.

Neil, you are joshing right? You call yourself a Nova Scotian, fer Christ's sake?
Robbie Burns was the poet of Scotland in the 1700s and remained so until Stuart Murdoch formed Belle and Sebastian in the 1990s. Stuart now totally kicks his ass.

Kellee, I'll have to settle for the kilted hotties instead, as it looks like I'm having chicken for supper. Thanks for your concern!

I had no idea of who he was. I'm so happy to know this now.

Well, gosh darn it, Neil, I'm just glad I could teach the young folks something for a change.

I hope someone asks me who Robbie Burns is in the near future, as that is the best rundown ever, and I am going to have to use it.

haha Ruhee! You've been subjected to Barb's quick and dirty history lessons. Now you know why I never became a teacher.

Hey Ruhee, who was Robbie Burns?

OMFG haggis?!? You're killing me people. That's like guts within guts.

AAAAahhhhHHHH!

I think I have officially become oversensitive.

Barbara Bruederlin said...

"guts within guts" Haha Michelle! Although I guess that's actually accurate.
Fear not, nobody fed me any haggis so it's safe for me to give you a big kiss without any fear of haggis breath.
