Which Man ?

Did you see our hero Matthew Good on The Hour last night?
George took him to the newstand where they flipped through headlines.
Now I have the utmost respect for Matt Good - for his musicianship, for his intelligence, for his humanitarianism. And last night he came off really smart and informed; hell, he even threw out the word plurocrasy.
But Matt, man, I think if I knew I was going on national tv, I'd try to look my best. I'm not that shallow that looks are that meaningful to me (I mean, shit, have you ever looked at me?), and I place far more importance on heart and brains, but ... baggy-assed jeans, a non-descript windbreaker, a brown trucker hat (do people still wear those?) and a half-grown beardy thingy? I'd be tempted to cross to the other side of the street if I saw this guy coming.
Now, Matt can clean up really nicely when he wants to. At his last concert he looked fantastic. But I guess last night he was going for the anti-celebrity look.
Still love you though, man.

Shit! I missed it. Was it just a short visit on the hour? How did he and George get along?

It was really brief - maybe 4 minutes. And the weird thing is George only mentioned it once before the show (you know how he usually repeats things).

But just prior to the newstand segment George was fawning all over talking about Matt being the greatest songwriter in Canada and what a great blog he has. So he's a big fan. They giggled a lot together - no man-hugs though, which is a shame as I am a huge fan of the man-hug.

I wouldn't be surprised if the clip shows up on The Hour archives in a couple of weeks.

I miss the old Matt look. With Jenny being such a fashionista, I'm surprised she hasn't taught him how to dress himself! ha! I am a despiser of facial hair, so maybe that is what is throwing me off. I can even forgive the black socks w/shorts IF he would shave that stuff off. Hi to the family and Happy Friday!

Yeah, I don't get that beardy thing either, and the trucker hat was really ill-advised too.
Happy Friday to you as well!

Dammit... I always miss that show and it's one of the few that I'd actually like to sit down and watch.

Tydes, check out the Hour archives in a while. I'll bet the Matt Good segment will be on there.
Stephanie - don't let your baba tape over Matty! I'm not sure why George didn't announce this more. I expected him to go on and on about it.

Jen, Matt really outdid himself in the anti-fashion dept - you're right, he probably gets waaay too much fashion crap at home.
I'll let you know when the clip gets posted.

DAMN. Not only am I days late but I didn't get to hear it down here in the States.

I'm totally thankful to you for introducing me to all these wonderful Canadian artists, but I'm also PISSED that I can't hear all the real stuff.

*sniffle*

Aw, Michelle, looks like Eva and I are the only ones who actually saw it - even Jerry pooped out to bed too early. But I will let you know as soon as I spot in in the Hour archives.
